Kitchen: Poggenpohl’s Dining Desk

The Poggenpohl Dining Desk shows that by pure design, you can literally fit your entire kitchen into a table.

There’s no winning in a battle of deciding if the Dining Desk is a kitchen table or a dining table, because it is both.

At first glance, this slender, rectangular table may appear unassuming with its clean cut form. Yet, its true potential lies within its inner workings, characterised by a variable functional area which can be opened along its longitudinal axis either by hand or with the aid of a quiet motor. Once unveiled, the open centre is a multipurpose space filled with stainless steel panels, a cutlery tray or chopping board, all which can be set in a variety of arrangements.

Flanking both ends of the open areas are stainless steel trolleys, where these mobile units interconnect all areas of the kitchen and provide space for additional conveniences directly at the table, positioning necessities within arm’s reach.

The Dining Desk is the result of a cooperative partnership between Poggenpohl and Draenert, combining the former’s core competencies in manufacturing luxury, premium kitchens with the latter’s specialty in extendable dining tables.
