1. Circus Carnival
This project demands boldness. Think of clowns and lion tamers, acrobats and contortionists. No colour is too bright, no design too garish. But if shimmery gold walls or cotton candy-pink ceilings are a tad too adventurous for you, choose instead to make-over certain pieces of your furniture. Give your chair a new look with bold red-and-white stripes, or paint your dressing table neon pink. Instant new look, instant head-turner.
TIP: Don’t go overboard. One outstanding piece of furniture in each room will suffice, and keep the rest of the room in muted tones.

2. Break-up or Make-up?
Paint horizontal stripes along the walls to create wall panels, and go wild with it. The stripes do not have to be of the same width, nor do the top panel have to be of the same shade as the bottom. As a rule of thumb, always keep the bottom panelling in a darker tone with less or no patterns, whilst brighter colours and prints should feature at the top.
TIP: Use masking tape to line the sides of the stripes to make sure you end up with a completely straight, un-smudged line.
