From 3 – 7 March 2010, visitors were brought into a world where design, creativity and innovation merged at ID Trends in conjunction with MIFF 2010 at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC). Among the many home living exhibitions in Malaysia, ID Trends managed to set itself apart by placing focus on booth ambiance and appearance, resulting in an array of booths that managed to make consumers aware that interior design plays a big role in creating the overall atmosphere of any living space.

Three exhibitors emerged winners of the ID Trends Best Presentation Award. Dream House Concept Sdn Bhd won first place and took home RM 3000 and a certificate, second prize winner went to Maxly Landscape Sdn Bhd who received RM 2000 and a certificate, and third prize winner Shuang Yi Kitchen Sdn Bhd got RM 1000 and a certificate. Each of these booths was commended for their effort in demonstrating new ideas in the presentation of their products.
For many exhibitors, ID Trends offered them a chance to explore new markets. Apart from selling to the local market, a number of exhibitors managed to attain export business for the first time. Exhibitor Tropical Home & Lighting Sdn Bhd remarked, “We’ve only selling our products locally, but some international buyers approached us about providing lighting for a new airport project. We’re currently in the midst of discussion with their subsidiary company which is based here, and if it all works well, we’ll make our way there to take a look at the project. We’ve also had buyers from Penang who came and bought a lot of samples from us because they cannot find these styles in their city. ID Trends has presented to us a unique chance to get our name and products out to a larger market.”
Visitors were treated to many exciting activities at ID Trends. The ID Trends Show Case gave them a chance to get a glimpse inside a home displaying new and trendy products from participating exhibitors; Eric Leong presented some handy tips on how to decorate a home, and there was also a string of product demos to introduce new products to the audience. In addition, many visitors made use of the ID Square section to get advice from talented interior designers, and took opportunity to buy products at discounted prices with the ID Trends Hot Deals promotion. A number of lucky visitors at the fair also got to walk away with a limited edition ‘Golden Tiger’ statue.
ID Trends in conjunction with MIFF 2010 was an event that took a step forward to create awareness that interior design plays a vital role in the making of a desired home. Besides that, it also gave opportunities to local exhibitors to get their name out at an international level, and also helped to create new business deals for said exhibitors.
